Author Guide
Author Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
Authorship and Contribution
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the concept, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors. If there are very few contributors, such as language editing, they should be mentioned in the acknowledgment section. The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the article and agreed to submit it for publication. Authors are expected to carefully review the list of authors and their order before submitting their article and provide the final list of authors during the original submission. Only in exceptional cases will the editor consider adding, removing or rearranging authors after the article has been submitted. All authors should accept any such addition, removal, or rearrangement. Authors are jointly responsible for the paper.
Authorship Change Requests
Changes to the author list by adding, removing, or rearranging author names can only be made before the article is accepted and only with the approval of the journal's Editor.
If such a change is requested, the Editor will ask the corresponding author to provide (a) the reason for the change in the author list and (b) written confirmation (email) from all authors that they agree to the addition. The Editor will only consider adding, removing, or rearranging authors after the article has been accepted.
Writing an Article
Those writing original research articles should address the subject in an original manner with an objective discussion. The article should contain sufficient details and references to allow others to replicate the paper. Misleading or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
Originality
Authors should ensure that the article is original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Use of Original Referances and Citation
Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original papers. If they have used the papers and/or words of others, this has been appropriately cited. Information obtained privately, as in conversations, correspondence, or discussions with third parties, should not be used without explicit and written permission.
Data Access and Preservation
Authors may be required to provide research data supporting their articles for editorial review and/or comply with the journal's open data requirements. Authors should, whenever possible, be ready to provide public access to such data and keep this data for a reasonable period after publication. Our journal recommends the uploading of research data to TUBITAK's Aperta Portal.
Multiple and Concurrent Publications
An author should not publish their article containing the same research in multiple journals. Submitting the same article to multiple journals simultaneously is considered unethical behavior. Except in the form of an abstract, an author should not submit a previously published article to another journal for evaluation.
Publication of Survey and Interview-Based Studies
For research in any scientific field that requires ethics committee approval, approval should have been obtained, and this approval should be specified and documented in the article. In research requiring ethics committee approval, information about the approval (committee name, date, and number) should be included in the methodology section, as well as on one of the first/last pages of the article in case presentations of cases. Informed consent forms should be signed and information should be included in the article.
Conflict of Interest
Conflict of interest refers to financial or other interests that could compromise a person's objectivity, substantially distort their objectivity, or provide an unfair advantage to any person or organization. All sources of financial support for the research and the role of sponsors in the research should be explained. If there is no source of funding, this should also be indicated. Examples of possible conflicts of interest that should be disclosed include consultancies, salary receipt, and grants. Possible conflicts of interest should be disclosed at the earliest possible stage.
Error Reporting
When an author discovers a significant error or mistake in their published work, they should immediately notify the journal. It is also the author's responsibility to collaborate with the editor if the article needs to be retracted or corrected as deemed necessary by the editor. If an editor or publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains errors, it is their responsibility to collaborate with the editor, including informing the editor.
Image Integrity
It is unacceptable to enhance, darken, move, remove or add any particular feature in an image. Authors must adhere to the journal's guidelines for graphic images.
