I
This research was carried out in order to determine the agronomic components related to fresh cob and green matter yield of sweet corn cultivars in Karapınar ecological conditions in 2021. 13 sweet corn varieties were used in the study. The research was carried out in a randomized block design with three replications. In the study, fresh ear yields, marketable ear yields and green matter yield yield characteristics of all cultivars were investigated.
As a result of the research, the average fresh ear yield of the cultivars was obtained as 1583 kg/da, the highest fresh ear yield values were determined in Vega (1729 kg/da) variety and the lowest value was determined in Yummy (1511 kg/da) variety on the basis of cultivars. Among the sweet corn varieties, the highest marketable ear yield was Vega (1600 kg/da), while the lowest value was found in Caremelo (1231 kg/da). The green matter yield values of the varieties examined in the research varied between 1352 kg/da (Khan) – 1100 kg/da (Adapare).
As a result of the study, it was concluded that the Central Anatolian conditions, including the Karapınar district, are very suitable for sugar corn cultivation and the selection of varieties in cultivation is very important in terms of marketable ear yield, Vega and Khan varieties are the prominent varieties for the region.
